The Civil Society Department is led by the Advocate and aims to engage and unify NGOs and civil society in a common framework.

 

The Advocate leads these efforts to build an awareness of political prospects in the civil society community and perpetuates an understanding of what it means to be a non-governmental establishment and how this status can be used to the mutual advantages of the individual organization and Synthesis. Accordingly, the Advocate is a position of great responsibility since a big part of what Synthesis does is promote itself as a vanguard of civil society’s fundamental rights to organize, exist, and carry out their work without the threat of unwarranted interference and marginalization.

 

The Advocate heads Global Equinox Agenda and in the future will act as a mediator between all NGOs in the Global Equinox program and ensure that all the measures of the initiative are implemented properly. Currently, however, Global Equinox must be built from a concept into a real conglomeration of visionary organizations who have come to realize civil society’s undeniable role in shaping the future.

 

Hence, the role of the Advocate’s department, at this early stage, is to build an awareness in civil society and highlight the prospects of its unity to civil society leaders and illustrate the political, social, and financial advantages involved.
